Fernando Correa : ウィキペディア英語版 | Fernando Correa
Fernando Edgardo Correa Ayala (born 6 January 1974 in Montevideo) is a retired Uruguayan footballer. A striker, he played mostly for Spain's Atlético Madrid. ==Club career== After four seasons with Club Atlético River Plate (Montevideo), Correa moved abroad to Atlético de Madrid, making his La Liga debut on 10 September 1995 against Racing de Santander. Incidentally, he would be loaned for two seasons to the Cantabria side, scoring 27 league goals in that period, enough to earn a return to the Spanish capital. There, however, he would never be more than a decent offensive backup, at least in the first division; he did form an efficient offensive partnership with countryman Diego Alonso in the 2001–02 season, as the ''Colchoneros'' returned to the top level after two years, combining for 35 league goals. After a two-year stint with RCD Mallorca and six further games for Real Valladolid (Segunda División), Correa returned to Uruguay and River Plate, joining C.A. Peñarol after a short stint with China's Shanghai Shenhua FC. In the 2009 summer, he rejoined his first professional club, River Plate, at the age of 35.
